Plutarch Studies

Lucius Mestrius Plutarchus
AD 46 – AD 120
Wikipedia source

Plutarch was a Greek historian, traveler, magistrate, mayor, priest, biographer, and essayist. His reflections on the lives and character of famous Greeks and Romans in his Parallel Lives are very poignent. We use North's version as a part of our citizenship studies.

Plutarch's writings are at the very least meaty and we study one life a term as a family. I read to the kids and then we narrate what we are learning about these famous men's characters and choices.

These are the resources that we use:

Plutarch's Lives for Boys and Girls by W.H. Weston
