Ceesa's Butterfly Study

Ceesa chose to study the monarch butterfly.

She made sketches of them.

And the life cycle.

She wrote an essay.

Monarchs

Monarch butterflies are unique and easy to identify! If you see them, you will always remember them!

In the winter, they live on the East coast and California and Mexico. May to November, they are in Ohio. In the fall, they go down south and they reach there the first of November.

Monarchs’ wings are tattered by the end of the journey north. The babies’ wings are fresher. The wingspan: 3.5-4.0 (8.9-10.2c,). The Viceroy looks like the Monarch, but is smaller. The females lack the black scent patch.

Open sunny places; including, old fields, roadsides, meadows, prairies, parks, and garden are some of the places Monarchs like to live.

As you can see Monarchs are great and on of the butterflies that migrate!

She drew their habitat.

She wrote a short story about one.

Sally

Once upon a time there was a butterfly named Sally. She lived with Mommy and Daddy and baby Butterfly by the big road. One day Sally wanted to play with Tim the caterpillar that lived on the other side of the road. So she asked Mommy Butterfly. After you clean you room," said Mommy Butterfly. "Yes Mommy." said Sally. So she smoothed out her carpet (grasses) and made her bed (a daisy).And then she played at Tim's for 2 hours and then came home and went to sleep.

She used animation clay to mold one. 

And she made a diarama for it.
