Breathing Glass Jar Experiment

So Li loves the Bucket List, even on days when we are not planning something, he asks, "What are we doing for the bucket list today?"

We decided to give this one a try (from Family Fun April 2012)...

You take two identical jars outside...

Place one of them on concrete or cement...

Place another in the yard on grass...

After an hour, go out and look at the glasses...

The glass on the grass release oxygen into the jar and creates water vapor. As the vapor is warmed by the sun, it condenses on the cooler glass. Since concrete doesn't breathe, the glass jar remains empty.

Wishing you homeschool blessings,

I like how simple, but interesting that is.

With Li being a little guy, it worked perfectly.

Super simple, but lots to learn.
