Measuring with rulers and string becomes second nature to kids when you measure just anything that you come across.
Measuring sort of became an obsession with ours after we started measuring each other.
When we moved onto the ruler, we just measured to the nearest inch to begin.
Lining things up with the bottom and seeing the top of where the object measures can be difficult. We use a pencil to line up the end of the item, so that it is easier to read the ruler.
