Water in the Bag Experiment

For this experiment
you will need a plastic bag,
water to fill it half full,
and
several sharpened pencils.

We used produce bags, but they were a bit thin.
I would recommend those bags that pet fish come in.

Push the sharpened pencils into the bag
half full and tied with water.
Push them in quickly and do not make the hole
larger than the pencil.

The bag doesn't leak,
the pencil fills the new space.

However, you can see we made an extra hole.
See the water pouring out of the side.
We had to quickly fill it with another pencil.

Wishing you homeschool blessings,

The kids had fun with it even when it would leak.
