A Child Well Balanced {A Review}

I just finished reading The Well Balanced Child from Hawthorn Press's Early Learning series. It really explains the how and why  children develop as they do.

"This book is an attempt to chart some processes of child development and environmental opportunity that remain constant themes through changing fads and fashions."

The heart of the issue is movement and balance (the act of not moving), development of mind and body, language, music, health, and senses.

We especially like the exercises and movements in the back of the book. Here are the kids being busy bees.

"This is the time for make-believe, dressing up, creating castles in the air and searching for fairies at the bottom of the garden." ~of 4-7 year olds.

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
