Well, its Spring, no wait, maybe it's summer...

Spring is here. It seems a bit early in this part of the country. Normal highs are in the 50's. For the last, 2 weeks it has been in the 70's and even up to the 80's. I had to turn the air conditioning on last night because Little Man woke up at 2:00 fussy, sweating, and hot.

Over the weekend, we went on a nature walk. It was beautiful weather for it. We noticed on the way to church that the forsythia were blooming. The rule of thumb around here is 3 frosts after the first bloom. It is hard to believe that we only have 3 more frosts when we have had snow in April before.

Here's what we found on our walk...
Woodpecker hole. The top looks large enough to be a home for some critter.

Jo-Jo adores the wild onions. Not sure why, but she's been talking about them for the last couple of weeks. When she saw this bunch, she told me we needed a picture.

It's hard to make out, but these are berry bushes. The stems are really reddish, purplish in color.

The fern are greening. I'm not sure they ever really browned this year.

It certainly was a terrific walk!

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
Bethany
