It's a bit cold to go panning for gold this time of year,
but I really wanted to for our study of Marco Polo.
(See our Georgia post for more information.)
So we tried it at home.
If you want to try it too, you'll need:
3-4 cups sand
3-4 cups pebbles
5-10 quarter sized rocks
a sprinkle of gold glitter
pan (we used a tin)
fleece (we used a bit of quilting bating)
water to cover all up to about 2 inches
It was lots of fun
and I can't wait to add
panning for gold--for real-- to our
summer bucket list for next year.
(See last year's here.)
Wishing you homeschool blessings,
