Pastels

"Roughly pastel began 250 years ago, although colored chalks have been used for thousands of years. ~Historical Foundations of Pastel

At first,
our home was graced
with leaves...

Then,
fruit filled the shelves...

Sunflowers cheered
the hallways...

Finally, butterflies flitted
from room to room...

For the past month, we've been diligently working on pastels.

Do you want to make pastels too? Here are some great sites for tutorials:
Leaves
Blueberries
Strawberries and Bananas
Sunflowers
Butterflies

Wishing you homeschool blessings,
Bethany

What fun! My children would LOVE to play with pastels! I fear that it is me that holds them back for fear of a mess!

Your artwork is absolutely beautiful! I can see that you are enjoying them room to room. Wonderful! @Gina - they are surely messy. But easy to clean up with baby wipes. I have a friend that tried them outside with her children first. You might do that?
